Kiya town, Kyoto 1997

I feel "Noren" (a shop curtain) fits better than a flag for Kyoto" because it is built in a valley with mountains all around. This noren is funny, it works as partition. However, the view from behind the noren appears and disappears beautifully.

The design on the noren also works as sign. We can get a sense of what the owner is thinking.

Noren are not only signs of occupation of that shop, but also a sign of Kyoto's prosperity.
I made the noren above to put onto the entrance of the alleyways so that people are warned that they may have taken a wrong turn.
